Goodlives is a local charity that provides practical support to help you find employment and get back into work. We offer a range of FREE courses that focus on sharing new skills and building self–confidence in a safe space.
We understand that finding suitable work can sometimes be a daunting and frustrating experience, so having some additional support can be beneficial whilst you choose your next steps forward.
Veg Boxes
Interested in getting super-fresh organic veg boxes each week from our vibrant community growing project? You can!
Be a part of the change you want to see in your local community by supporting the Goodlives project and enjoying the deliciousness of organically grown, freshly picked veg.
Upcycling
Upcycling transforms everyday waste into creative, valuable items. Our courses teach hands-on techniques to repurpose discarded materials, turning them into art or practical pieces that celebrate sustainability and personal flair.
Woodwork
Our amazing woodwork workshop, based in the heart of Cleator Moor, is full to the brim with fantastic tools and fully equipped with machinery and materials.
You will discover the joy (and frustration!) of working with chisels, saws, planes and a whole host of other tools and we will also teach you how to take care of them.
Cookery
Our cookery project gives learners hands-on experience in preparing and making a variety of healthy meals as well as basic food hygiene, budgeting and an opportunity to gain a food safety qualification!
At Goodlives, our focus is on building brighter futures for individuals in Cumbria.
We provide personalised and comprehensive opportunities for those requiring additional support to move forward in life. Our goal is to enhance well-being, foster breakthrough, and drive positive change through therapeutic and creative activities, outdoor learning, and education. Ultimately, we strive to alleviate poverty and support individuals in securing sustainable and meaningful employment.
Through our innovative projects, we deliver progressive learning experiences rooted in local communities. These projects encourage healthier choices, cultivate positive energy, ensure individuals feel acknowledged, valued, and listened to, and empower them to take the initial steps towards progress and positive transformation.
