On Tuesday 5th November Skills4You kindly delivered a variety of activities in three different locations as part of our Trash2Treasure project in school. This project is an enterprise venture that has been set up by the pupils and hopes to produce goods from natural or recycled materials to sell at our Christmas Fayre. As part of this project Skills4You were able to help our Operations Department to make prototypes for various products that could potentially be created and sold at our school fayre. These included activities like cooking reindeer Australian crunch in the kitchen, producing whoolen gonks in the workshop and festive scarecrows in the garden. The workshops were a massive success and our pupils really enjoyed the experience. Pupils not only made amazing products, they had new experiences, transitioned well into a new setting, coped with unfamiliar adults in a new environment, interacted with strangers and managed their anxieties. Pupils were enthusiastic when they talked to us about the experience and are keen to return. This really is an unvaluable opportunity for our pupils and will massively help with any future transition to access the services provided by Skills4You. We are eternally grateful.
